I recently found my way inside a modern-day Jericho, a “fortress city” of walls built by human hands. Grief is what first drove me there, and I have been scouting it out ever since. Recently, however, I was in danger of capture, but a woman helped me, hid me, and ended up lowering me by a rope to escape through a window of her home on the city wall. By that same rope, I pray, she may be rescued (both she and all who are inside her house) when the fortress falls flat.
Chime in if this resonates at all with you. Meanwhile, my thanks to Liz Burnell for this excellent photograph.
