I remember my mother once created a centerpiece for the dining room table, filling a pretty bowl with absolutely gorgeous fruit — artificial fruit that looked identical to the real thing. I also remember how hard we children laughed when a weekend guest plucked an apple out of the bowl to take a bite. He was astonished, then embarrassed, and then (fortunately) laughing right along with the rest of us as he discovered it was fake.
Ever seen a centerpiece like that? Chime in if you have something to say about false evidence appearing real. My thanks to Gary Hensel on Twitter for posting this image!
