I think most of us think what we think because we think it’s right, right? But what if it’s not? How on earth can we tell?
Consider the definition of “justice” for example, which lately looks one way to me and another way to you. Can it be both? The Bible says no, period. It says that justice means rightness with God and that nothing is “just” until it has been rightly adjusted. That is quite a claim and the reason for Christmas, according to the New Testament and to Christ Himself.
Christ says the adjustment comes with Second Birth. Nicodemus was flummoxed by this idea, and so are many still. But Christ says it’s not just a heart transplant that is needed; it’s total transformation. Adjustment comes when He does. I am grateful to be in the world but no longer OF it, in New Life above the noise.
